Prepare To Have Your Socks Rocked

Get ready to rock, Cherry Hill! Brand new restaurant Rockhill, from the guys who brought you Big John’s, is pretty awesome. Yesterday, Alexis and I were actually on our way to Turning Point, when we noticed this brand new restaurant on Route 70. We literally made a U-turn once I looked up the menu… cheesesteaks, pizza, fried cheese, and milkshakes. You would have turned around too, right?! And okay, so they don’t serve brunch, but we had to go try it! This place JUST opened on Thursday (November 6) so we were excited to be one of the first to have our socks rocked off at Rockhill!

IMG_2395The entire building and design is very sleek. Alexis and I were seated in a corner booth, and unfortunately the sun was directly in my eyes the whole time, but I was okay with sunglasses on. Lex ordered a small (but it was still huge!) cheesesteak stromboli and said it was juicy, cheesy, and that the steak was very tender. I ordered a personal pan pizza (you can choose 8”, 12” or 16”) and I could tell everything was fresh. I wished there was more cheese – I tasted mostly tomato – but both Alexis and I agreed their dough was awesome. Both of us took half our food home.

Then… we were bad… and decided to order milkshakes. You can choose between chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry, and then they have several toppings that you can mix and match. Alexis got chocolate with nutella and Reese’s PB cup. I got vanilla with salted caramel and pretzel. Mmmmm milkshakes! Both of us had huge chunks of toppings in the bottom of our shakes, which were not too thick and were drinkable through a straw. We still would have liked spoons, though, because of all the toppings at the bottom. I couldn’t taste the caramel at all in mine, but it was still very rich and yummy.

Unfortunately, our service wasn’t great, especially since we were there around 3 and it wasn’t busy. Meghan, our waitress, took a while to come over to us, and wasn’t very attentive in general, but she was very friendly. Hopefully it is only because the staff is still in training. Alexis and I were still excited to go home and recommend this place to all of our friends and come back ourselves to try other menu options – they have a lot of fun options! Next time, I have to try the soft pretzel, tater tots, and burger!

Is your mouth watering yet?
