The Turning Point is On Point

On Sunday, August 31, I was at a turning point. I woke up feeling sick, still experiencing the effects of a cold I had gotten a few days earlier. And with my fellow Brunching Beauty still overseas, I wasn’t sure if I could motivate myself enough to drag my butt out of bed to go to brunch. But then, I remembered how much I love brunch. So, I went from a turning point to The Turning Point in Marlton on Route 73.

The Turning Point is a small chain in New Jersey which only serves breakfast and lunch. The good news is they serve breakfast all day, every day, as they are open 7 days a week; so if you have a craving for “brunch” on a random Wednesday afternoon – head to The Turning Point! They pride themselves on serving fresh food, something the BB girls can attest to, as we have been there several times before and enjoyed ourselves each time.

Redstone Round-Up

With my fellow Brunching Beauty missing for the next couple weeks (I hope you’re having fun in Italy, Alexis!), my family stepped up to the plate and jumped at the chance to accompany me on a brunch venture this week. They were eager to try my favorite brunch spot thus far, Redstone Grill in Marlton, which I had previously raved about before starting this blog.

Omelettes and Pancakes and French Toast…Oh My!

It’s Sunday and the BB (Brunching Beauties) girls set out to try another local eatery. Julie and I headed to Amy’s Omelette House in Cherry Hill, NJ. As we approached the restaurant, at about 11:45am, we noticed a lot of people waiting outside. With our mouths watering and stomachs growling, we were nervous it would be a long wait to be seated. To our surprise, we were seated right away, however, our table was outside. Luckily, it was a beautiful summer day and we had a lovely, refreshing setting. Our waitress greeted us right away to take our drink order; hot coffee and water for myself, iced coffee and water for Julie. While we waited for our friend Westley, Julie and I looked over the menu. Amy’s offers a HUGE selection of different omelettes. Any variation you can think of, Amy’s makes it. The menu also includes other breakfast and lunch items including: pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches, all done in a variety of styles.

Can I Have Some More S’Mores Shake?

Although we want the primary focus of this blog to be the best meals for the best deals in the South Jersey and Philadelphia area, a girl’s gotta eat even on the weeks when she doesn’t get paid and the nights when she doesn’t feel like leaving the house. So, occasionally we are going to throw some recipes your way that we think are scrumptious enough to compete with some of the best restaurants and cafes!

Since it’s summertime, I’ve got s’mores on the brain, and just plain old chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows aren’t doing it for me anymore. I tried using Dove chocolate caramel squares, which was tasty, and one night Alexis brought over brownies and had the brilliant idea of substituting them for the chocolate, which was amazing. But what if you don’t have fun types of chocolate in the house or feel like making brownies?

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Brunching Beauties’ S’mores Shake.
